How Dangote Plans to Employ 3000 Nigerians With New Plant

Aliko Dangote, through Dangote Sinotruk West Africa, has inaugurated a new truck assembly plant in Ikeja, Lagos. An initiative set to create approximately 3000 job opportunities for Nigerians, aligning with the country’s aspirations towards achieving a $1 trillion GDP by 2030.

The ceremony, held on Sunday, witnessed prominent figures including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The fully knocked down (CKD) truck assembly plant is designed to produce up to 10,000 vehicles annually.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, expressing his enthusiasm at the inauguration, stated, “With the capacity to assemble and produce 10,000 trucks annually, Dangote Sinotruk West Africa is set to create about 3,000 jobs across Nigeria. Congratulations to Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his remarkable efforts towards industrialization in Nigeria and Africa.”

This new facility represents a significant industrial milestone and a strategic step towards making Nigeria a hub for vehicle manufacturing in Africa, potentially competing with other manufacturers like Innoson Vehicle.

The Ikeja plant is part of Dangote’s broader vision of enhancing industrial capabilities and employment in Nigeria.

A day prior to the plant’s inauguration, Governor Sanwo-Olu and Senator Akpabio visited the Dangote refinery in Lekki.

The governor said, “People talk about dreams, but only a few can make it happen. Dangote has put Lagos State and the whole of Nigeria on the world map of excellence.”

The Ikeja truck assembly is expected to significantly contribute to the nation’s journey towards an impressive GDP milestone by 2030.
