INEC Begins Physical Voter Registration Across Nigeria
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched the physical phase of its 2025 Continuous Voter Registration exercise across Nigeria, starting Monday, August 25.
This stage follows the online pre-registration that began last week, on August 18.
According to an update on the commission’s X handle, in-person registration will run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Eligible Nigerians are encouraged to visit their local INEC state or local government offices to complete the process.
INEC highlighted the categories of citizens who can register or update their voter information, including:
- First-time voters who are 18 years and older.
- Existing voters who need to replace lost, damaged, or stolen Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The commission emphasised the importance of this exercise in ensuring that all eligible Nigerians can participate in the upcoming elections. Citizens are advised to carry valid identification documents and plan their visits to avoid long queues.
Completing voter registration early will help avoid last-minute rushes and guarantee that citizens’ details are captured adequately for the elections.
