INEC Releases Revised Timetable for 2027 General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a revised timetable and schedule of activities, bringing the key election dates forward after changes to the legal framework, following the repeal of the Electoral Act 2022 and the enactment of the Electoral Act 2026. 

Under the updated plan, Nigerians will vote for President and the National Assembly on Saturday, January 16, 2027, while Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
