Japa: Canada Issues 920 Invitations for Permanent Residency

Canada’s Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited about 920 candidates to apply for permanent residency through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) via the Express Entry System.

This recent draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 739. This shows Canada’s effort to attract skilled workers worldwide to boost its economy.

The new draw follows another on June 19, 2024, where 1,499 invitations were issued with a lower minimum CRS score of 663.

The different score requirements highlight how the Express Entry system adjusts to give opportunities to a range of candidates.

How to Apply for Canada Permanent Residency

As of July 2, 2024, the CRS scores in the Express Entry pool show a competitive environment. Most candidates have scores between 451-500.

The pool includes 940 candidates with scores between 601-1200, 16,521 candidates between 501-600, and 64,761 candidates between 451-500, with fewer candidates in lower score ranges.

The Provincial Nominee Program is a key route for skilled workers to gain permanent residency in Canada.

It allows provinces and territories to choose candidates based on their skills, education, and work experience, matching the needs of local economies.

Each province and territory runs its own PNP, focusing on groups like students, businesspeople, skilled workers, and semi-skilled workers.

These programs address specific job market needs, ensuring a steady flow of talent to support local economies.

The Express Entry system, managed by IRCC, handles applications for permanent residency from skilled immigrants.

It includes programs like the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Provincial Nominee Program.

Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which gives points based on age, education, work experience, and language skills.

The CRS score determines if a candidate gets an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Regular draws are held about every two weeks, with each draw having a specific cut-off score that candidates must meet or exceed to receive an ITA.
