JAPA: Canadian University Offers Scholarships for International Students
The University of Ottawa is offering the University of Ottawa Undergraduate Scholarship to support international students from specific countries, including Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, South Korea, India, and Bangladesh.
Starting in the fall of 2024, these students can enjoy tuition fee reductions when enrolling in eligible undergraduate programs taught in English.
This renewable scholarship, targeting programs in Engineering, Science, or Social Sciences, offers financial support ranging from $12,000 to $25,000 annually, directly applied to the tuition fees.
To be eligible, students must be citizens of the listed countries, meet a minimum admission average (80% for regular support and 90% for the Excellence category), enroll in full-time studies without opting for the French immersion stream, and hold a valid study permit.
The scholarship can extend up to four years, covering a total of up to $100,000 in tuition costs. Renewal for up to 12 terms is possible if the recipients maintain their eligibility and full-time enrollment status.
Applicants should apply through the Ontario Universities Application Centre and follow up by submitting necessary documents via the university’s UOZone portal. Successful candidates will receive a conditional admission offer which may include the scholarship, depending on their academic achievements.
