JAPA:UK to Issue 45,000 Seasonal Worker Visas in 2025

The UK government has declared that it will offer 45,000 seasonal worker visas in 2025 to bolster its agricultural and poultry sectors during critical times of labor demand. 

This move is part of a broader strategy to manage labor shortages effectively and maintain robust food production throughout peak seasons.

Purpose

The visas are designed to temporarily supplement the workforce in vital areas of food production, with an additional 2,000 visas specifically for poultry workers to support operations from October to December.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have sponsorship from a licensed UK employer, and comply with health and safety regulations pertinent to their roles. They also need to show they have enough funds to support themselves during their stay and possess valid health insurance.

Application Process

Those interested in applying need a certificate of sponsorship from an employer in the UK. Applications are processed through the UK government’s online immigration portal. Deadlines vary: applications for poultry-related positions must be submitted by November 15 annually, while applications for roles in horticulture are accepted year-round.
