List of Courses You Can Study at Nigeria’s Female-Only University

Nigeria has reached a new milestone in education with the launch of Tazkiyah University, the country’s first female-only higher institution. 

Located in Kaduna State, the university is dedicated to creating a safe and empowering space for women to pursue academic and professional excellence.

The institution, which opened its doors in 2025, announced a wide range of degree programmes spread across three faculties: Allied Health Sciences, Science & Computing, and Management & Social Sciences. 

With this launch, Tazkiyah University positions itself as a place where innovation is matched with integrity, and where young women are prepared not just for careers, but for leadership roles in society.

Faculty of Allied Health Sciences

Health education is at the heart of Tazkiyah’s mission. Under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, the university rolled out four career-driven courses designed to address Nigeria’s pressing need for more female healthcare professionals. These courses include:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc. Nursing Science) – Training the next generation of nurses with both technical expertise and compassionate care.
  • B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Science – Equipping students with the skills to run medical tests and contribute to accurate diagnoses in hospitals and labs.
  • B.Sc. Public Health – Preparing women to take leading roles in promoting community health and preventive medicine.
  • B.Sc. Human Nutrition & Dietetics – Focusing on the science of food, health, and wellness to combat malnutrition and lifestyle-related illnesses.

According to the university, these programmes are designed not only to produce competent professionals but also to instill strong ethical values in graduates who will serve communities with integrity.

Faculty of Science & Computing

As Nigeria continues to embrace the digital age, Tazkiyah University is ensuring women are not left behind. The Faculty of Science & Computing has introduced technology-focused degree programmes to give female students a competitive edge in science, innovation, and emerging industries. 

Among the courses available are:

  • B.Sc. Computer Science – A foundation for careers in programming, systems analysis, and data-driven innovation.
  • B.Sc. Cyber Security – Tackling the growing challenge of cyber threats while empowering women to lead in the fight for digital safety.
