Meet Nkasiobi Chukwu, the New Head of Marketing & Communications, Mavin Records

When we talk about art, culture, and technology are colliding more rapidly than ever, Nkasiobi Chukwu, popularly known as Eclipse Nkasi, stands at the very heart of the revolution.

A multi-creative powerhouse, writer, musician, filmmaker, and technologist, Nkasiobi has consistently challenged the boundaries of what’s possible. His work is driven by a single, compelling question, How far can creativity go when powered by technology?

Nkasiobi is the founder of Wakati Medi, a forward-thinking venture that sits at the crossroads of storytelling and innovation. His passion for redefining the future of media has led him to pioneer bold new approaches to digital engagement.

Perhaps most notably, he is the creator of Africa’s first AI-powered music album, a landmark project that blends artificial intelligence and musical artistry in groundbreaking ways.

This historic feat isn’t just a technical accomplishment; it’s a cultural statement. “I’m fascinated by how technology can transform creative experiences,” he says. “AI is not a threat to creativity — it’s an amplifier.”

From voiceovers to visionary

Nkasiobi’s journey began in the world of brand communications, where his voice literally became an unforgettable part of Nigerian advertising. He contributed to audiovisual campaigns for some of the country’s biggest brands, including MTN, Airtel, Hennessy, Pepsi, and Glo.

His deep, distinctive voice can still be heard in many of the jingles and commercials that defined a generation of advertising.

But he didn’t stop at voiceovers. Over the years, Nkasiobi evolved into a strategist and innovator, taking on leadership roles that allowed him to shape ideas from concept to execution.

His background as a creative gave him a unique lens to approach business and product development.

He has held several strategic positions across the tech and marketing landscape. At ProDevs, he served as Senior Business Development Manager. At Beyond the Visual, he became Head of Product and Innovation, focusing on digital-first solutions and immersive storytelling.

Tech meets culture

In 2023, he joined Fulgo Mobile, an Australian-owned smartphone brand, as Head of Marketing Communications. Tasked with leading the brand’s entry into the Nigerian market, Nkasiobi oversaw 360-degree marketing strategy, brand positioning, and creative execution.

His work wasn’t just about product launches, it was about shaping how a brand communicates with its audience in an era of cultural saturation and digital noise.

Now, Nkasiobi is Head of Marketing and Communications at Mavin Records, one of Africa’s most influential music labels. It’s a role that perfectly fuses his creative roots and strategic insight. “Mavin is not just a label,” he says. “It’s a cultural engine.

And I’m here to help amplify that impact in a way that’s bold, strategic, and deeply connected to today’s audience.”

The future is immersive

Over the past decade, Nkasiobi has remained committed to pushing the boundaries of digital storytelling. His current work explores how interactive media, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) can unlock new ways to engage with creative content.

He’s especially interested in how African creators can harness these tools to tell stories that are local in truth but global in reach.

“Immersive technologies aren’t just gimmicks,  they’re the next canvas for African creativity,” he explains. “We need to be part of that conversation, not just as consumers, but as creators and pioneers.”

Nkasiobi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Project Management certificate from Regenesys Business School. But his most powerful credential might just be his ability to see and shape the future of creativity itself.

With one foot in the world of art and the other firmly planted in tech, Nkasiobi Chukwu is more than a marketer or media executive. He is a cultural architect, a storyteller for the digital age, and a symbol of what’s possible when innovation meets imagination.
