Michelle Obama Clarifies Her 2024 Presidential Run Plans

Michelle Obama, the former First Lady, has finally addressed the rumors about her potential 2024 presidential candidacy.

Speculation has been swirling about her replacing President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.

On March 5, her office issued a definitive statement to quell the ongoing speculation. “As former first lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” said Crystal Carson, her communications director, to NBC News.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted Michelle Obama’s support for the re-election campaign of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Former President, Barack Obama has also shown strong support for Biden, stating he is “all in” for his former vice president’s expected rematch against Donald Trump.

Michelle Obama herself has consistently dismissed the idea of a presidential run. “Politics is hard,” she told Oprah Winfrey during her Netflix special “The Light We Carry” last year.

“You’ve got to want it. It’s got to be in your soul because it is so important. It is not in my soul.”

Interestingly, a Rasmussen survey from last month revealed that just under half of Democrats are in favor of replacing Biden at the top of the ticket.

Michelle Obama has not shied away from voicing her concerns about the potential return of Trump to the Oval Office.

she said on a podcast back in January;

“I’m terrified about what could possibly happen because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways sometimes I think people take for granted.”

With this clear statement, Michelle Obama hopes to put an end to the speculation and focus on supporting the current administration’s efforts for re-election.
