NCAA to Blacklist K1 De Ultimate for 6 Months After Airport Incident
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced plans to bar popular Fuji artist King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known professionally as K1 De Ultimate, from flying within Nigeria for six months.
This decision follows a disruptive episode at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where the musician clashed with ValueJet staff during the boarding process.
Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, made the announcement at a press briefing on Thursday. He emphasised that aviation rules apply equally to everyone and exist to protect all passengers.
“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months from flying in Nigeria,” Achimugu stated. “We will do everything we can to get to the root of it. Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice.”
In addition to the travel ban, the NCAA has formally asked the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to consider legal action against K1 De Ultimate.
When questioned about the artist’s ties to President Bola Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, Achimugu affirmed that no one is above the law. “The NCAA is committed to the rule of law, and no individual, regardless of status, is exempt from due process,” he said.
