Nigeria is Secretly Building a Tech Company Underwater

For years, Nigeria has been making waves in the tech industry, but recent reports suggest that the country is taking innovation to an entirely new level, underwater.

According to highly confidential sources (aka that one guy on Twitter with no profile picture), Nigeria is secretly constructing an underwater tech hub in the Atlantic Ocean.

Dubbed the “Eko-Atlantis Innovation District,” this submerged city is rumored to be the first of its kind, combining artificial intelligence, blockchain, and deep-sea real estate.

The vision – A future below sea level

Insiders claim that the government has partnered with private investors to build a fully submerged startup ecosystem where tech entrepreneurs can work without distractions—except for the occasional shark sighting. The benefits?

  • No traffic – No more Third Mainland Bridge congestion. Just a smooth submarine ride to work.
  • Reliable power supply – Since the ocean doesn’t experience blackouts, tech founders can finally host Zoom meetings without interruptions.
  • Crypto-friendly economy – With no physical banks, the district will run entirely on Web3. Finally, a place where your “crypto bro” friend can pay for lunch in Dogecoin.

Who’s behind this?

Some say Silicon Valley billionaires are secretly funding the project to escape land-based problems like taxes and accountability.

Others believe this is a government-backed initiative to attract global talent and make Nigeria the true tech capital of Africa since Ghana is getting a little too comfortable.

The first residents

Early reports suggest that prominent Nigerian tech founders have already booked their spots. Rumor has it that top CEOs are testing out waterproof laptops, and programmers are training AI models to detect jellyfish interference.

Meanwhile, fintech startups are preparing to launch Nigeria’s first “AquaBank”, offering loans in seashells (because why not?).

Is this real?

If you’ve read this far without checking the date, congratulations! You’ve been officially April Fooled.

But honestly, with the way Nigerian tech is growing, who knows? Maybe in a few years, we’ll be debating which is better: Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, or Lagos Underwater.

Happy April 1st!
