Nigeria is one of the top ten countries in the world with the most people using the internet.

This list shows countries where many people are connected online, telling us how much the world depends on the internet for work, talking to friends and family, and more. 

Here’s a look at the countries with the highest numbers of internet users:

1. China

China has approximately 1.05 billion internet users leading the pack, representing about 74.36% of its population. The vast number of users is a testament to China’s extensive infrastructure and technological advancements.

2. India

India comes in second with 692 million internet users. This accounts for 49.15% of its population, indicating a rapidly expanding digital landscape driven by increased mobile connectivity and affordable data.

3. United States

With an internet penetration rate of 93.79%, the United States has 311.3 million users. High-speed internet and widespread technology adoption make it a leader in global internet usage.

4. Indonesia

Indonesia ranks fourth with 212.9 million users, which makes up 77.76% of its population. The archipelago has seen a significant digital transformation, enhancing connectivity across its many islands.

5. Brazil

 This South American nation stands fifth with 181.8 million users, nearly 85% of its population. Brazil’s high internet penetration illustrates its role as a key player in the digital South American market.

6. Russia

In sixth place, Russia has 127.6 million internet users, covering nearly 90% of its population. The vast geographical area of Russia showcases impressive connectivity, especially in urban centers.

7. Nigeria

Ranking seventh, Nigeria has 122.5 million internet users. With more than half of its population online, Nigeria leads in digital engagement among African countries.

 Japan comes next with 102.5 million internet users, accounting for over 80% of its population. As a technology leader, Japan’s high internet usage is aligned with its tech-savvy society.

9. Mexico

Mexico ranks ninth with 100.6 million people online, nearly 80% of its 126.7 million population. This highlights Mexico’s growing digital infrastructure and increased internet accessibility.

10. Pakistan

Among the top ten, Pakistan has 87.35 million internet users, despite less than 40% of its population being online. This reflects ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity in a rapidly growing market.
