President Tinubu Arrives in Brazil for G20 Summit on Global Challenges
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu arrived in Rio de Janeiro late Sunday night to attend the 19th G20 Summit, a meeting of world leaders. Brazilian officials, including Ambassador Breno Costa from the Ministry of External Relations welcomed the president.
The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will take place from November 18 to 19 with the theme, “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.” Leaders will focus on solving global problems, including economic and environmental issues.
They will also discuss current conflicts, such as the Israel-Hamas war and tensions between the United States and China.
President Tinubu brought a strong team with him, including Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Livestock Development Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Tourism and Culture Hannatu Musawa, and Minister of State for Agriculture Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi. The group also includes the head of Nigeria’s intelligence agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
The G20 Summit is a chance for countries to work together on making the world more fair and sustainable. President Tinubu’s presence shows Nigeria’s commitment to finding solutions to global challenges and promoting the country’s goals on an international stage.
