PSG’s Dembele in Tears as He Wins 2025 Ballon d’Or

It was an emotional night in Paris as Ousmane Dembele finally stepped into football’s biggest spotlight, winning the Ballon d’Or for the very first time.

The 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward could not hold back his tears as he collected the award, marking a milestone moment in his career.

Dembele’s rise to this honour has been nothing short of spectacular. Last season, he was at the heart of PSG’s historic treble-winning campaign, scoring 35 goals and providing 14 assists across 53 matches.

His performances were not just about numbers, they came in crucial moments, including helping PSG secure their first-ever Champions League trophy.

In Ligue 1, Dembele shared the Golden Boot with 21 goals and was crowned both Ligue 1 Player of the Year and Champions League Player of the Year. His impact also stretched beyond France, as he guided PSG to the Club World Cup final, where they narrowly lost to Chelsea in New Jersey.

On the big night, Dembele edged out Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal to claim the award. Despite PSG playing on the same evening, the Frenchman was able to attend the ceremony in his home city, standing proudly on stage with visible emotion.

Ironically, his absence was felt at the Parc des Princes, where PSG fell to a 1-0 defeat against rivals Marseille. Dembele is currently out injured, but that didn’t stop him from savoring a career-defining moment that fans and teammates alike will remember for years.

For Dembele, often questioned earlier in his career for inconsistency and injuries, this Ballon d’Or triumph feels like both redemption and recognition. From a talented but fragile winger to the best player in the world, his story has now taken a golden turn.
