South African mobile operator Cell C has been invited to take part in the Top Women Global Virtual Conference for Africa this year. The event was made possible by Standard Bank’s partnership with TopCo Media and other organisations, including the Commission for Gender Equality and UN Women.

In order to provide motivation and practical strategies to help thousands of women entrepreneurs in Africa, the conference sought to bring together experts and thought-leaders.

This year’s conference is focused on providing participants with information on how to survive the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Juliet Mhango, The Chief Human Capital Development and Transformation Officer for Cell C, will participate in a panel discussion titled, “Gender equality through inclusive skills development and employment creation”.

Mhango said Cell C was fortunate to be invited to take part in the women conference. The South African mobile operator has always been a supporter of gender equality and women’s empowerment, she said.

“Through initiatives such as Take A Girl Child To Work Day, Cell C’s Bursary program for girl learners, and our holistic online educational platform Cell C girl, we are dedicated to driving the advancement of all women in the workplace and beyond,” said Mhango.
