Six Nigerian Pastors Who Are Siblings

Faith is very important to us as Nigerians; our parents have deeply imbibed the teachings of God in us, and we have mostly grown up with it in our community.

Nigerian families are now deeply involved in church activities. This often leads siblings to become pastors together. 

Growing up in such families, these brothers and sisters are inspired by their faith to lead and teach in their communities. 

Here’s a look at some Nigerian siblings who have become well-known pastors, working together to make a big impact in their churches and beyond.

Wale Adefarasin and Paul Adefarasin 

Wale and Paul Adefarasin are brothers who both lead churches. Their parents were well-respected in Lagos, and both brothers have followed in their footsteps.

Wale runs Guiding Light Assembly, and Paul is in charge of The House on the Rock, known for its big music event, The Experience.

Despite rumors of not getting along, especially when Paul didn’t attend Wale’s 70th birthday, they came together for their mother’s funeral in 2023.

Sam Adeyemi and Victor Adeyemi 

Sam and Victor Adeyemi grew up in a religious family in Kogi State and started their pastoral work in Kwara State under the guidance of Rev. George Adegboye.

Sam moved to Lagos to start Daystar Church and also set up Success Power International. Victor leads Global Harvest Church and began his preaching career in Ibadan. Both brothers have become key figures in Nigerian Christianity.

Jimmy Odukoya and Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun 

After their father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, passed away in 2023, Jimmy and Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun took over leadership at Fountain of Life Church, which their parents had started.

Jimmy, who is also an actor, became the Senior Pastor, and Tolu was named the Associate Senior Pastor. They are carrying on the work their parents started and managing their church together.
