South Africa: Delivery Startup Bottles Acquired by Retailer Pick n Pay

South African on-demand delivery startup, Bottles has been acquired by the country’s second-largest retailer Pick n Pay.

Launched in 2016, with the aim of delivering alcohol, the startup had to pivot grocery delivery in March when alcohol was banned in South Africa and has been steadily growing since.
