Tayo Amusan’s Persianas Group, in partnership with the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, has initiated a groundbreaking project in Lagos. The consortium led by the esteemed Nigerian businessman Tayo Amusan is set to construct a monumental $100-million sports complex, “The Arena,” on Victoria Island. 

This ambitious venture is poised to redefine the landscape of entertainment and sports in Nigeria.

The Arena – A new dawn for entertainment and sports

Tayo Amusan’s vision for The Arena is to establish a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a hub for entertainment and sports. With a seating capacity of 12,000, the complex is designed to host a wide array of events, from concerts to sporting competitions. The inclusion of a hotel and ample parking space further enhances its appeal as a premier destination for both locals and international visitors.

The construction of this iconic arena, designed by Yazgan Design Architecture and executed by Sinerji İnşaat/Sinerji Construction, commenced on February 24, with an anticipated completion date of December 2025. Tayo Amusan’s commitment to this project is evident in his efforts to create a world-class venue that will significantly contribute to Nigeria’s entertainment and sports sectors.

Under Tayo Amusan’s leadership, The Arena is set to become a cornerstone for the Nigerian music and entertainment industry. The consortium, which includes notable partners such as Live Nation, Oak View Group, Tunde Folawiyo of Yinka Folawiyo Group, Adino Capital, and MBO Capital, aims to transform The Arena into Africa’s first live entertainment hub.

With plans to host over 200 events annually, The Arena will showcase a diverse range of talents, from local artists to international stars. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lauded the project, recognizing its potential to position Lagos as a leading global destination for events.
