Ten Most Educated Countries in 2024

Education is very important in the world because it promotes economic growth and helps in the development of a state. Due to the lack of good schools, some children may end up as vagabonds in society.

 If a child receives the right training, they can add more value to society at large. Therefore, governments should invest more in the education sector.

Education drives progress by promoting economic growth, reducing poverty, and improving people’s abilities.

1. South Korea

 South Korea is the top country in education with a 97.9% literacy rate in 2024. Known for its strong focus on education, about 70% of young adults (25 to 34 years old) have completed college.

2. Canada

 Canada ranks second with 66.36% of its population having a college degree. The country is known for its high-quality and accessible education system from primary to secondary levels, making it easier for people to pursue higher education.

3. Japan

Japan is third, with a 64% college graduation rate. 65% of young adults (25 to 34 years old) have college degrees, and 34.2% of the general adult population (25 to 64 years old) hold bachelor’s degrees, highlighting Japan’s commitment to education.

4. Luxembourg

 Luxembourg is fourth, with 63.12% of its people having completed postsecondary education. The country offers a multilingual education system that is free and state-run from ages 4 to 16, ensuring everyone has access to education.

5. Ireland

 Ireland ranks fifth with a 62.88% college graduation rate. Known for its strong economy and significant investments in education, Irish universities attract students from around the world.

6. United Kingdom

 The UK is among the top educated nations with a 99% literacy rate and a 57.47% college graduation rate. Prestigious institutions like Oxford and Cambridge focus on critical thinking and creativity.

7. Lithuania

 Lithuania has a 57.48% college graduation rate. The country emphasizes accessible and compulsory education from ages 6 or 7 to 16, along with vocational training and adult education programs.

8. Netherlands

The Netherlands ranks ninth with a 55.60% college graduation rate. Known for its inclusive education system and high-quality higher education, often taught in English, the country prepares individuals for global competition.

9. Norway

 Norway has a 100% literacy rate and a 55.03% college graduation rate. The government provides free education, ensuring high educational attainment for everyone.

10. Australia

Australia is tenth, with a 99% literacy rate and a 54% college graduation rate among young adults. The education system focuses on quality and preparing students for global success.
