Terror Attacks: Tinubu Orders Service Chiefs to Relocate to Borno
President Bola Tinubu has ordered all service chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following the recent rise in terrorist attacks across the state.
The president announced this in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday after Monday’s bomb attacks, which left at least 23 people dead.
Several suicide bombings, believed to have been carried out by suspected Boko Haram members, were reported in Borno on Monday.
Tinubu sympathised with the people of Borno over the latest attacks and said the military is still making progress in the fight against insurgency.
He also said that during a security meeting with intelligence and security leaders last week, he approved more equipment and operational support to strengthen their work, adding that the process is already underway.
The president said he has also directed emergency response agencies to ensure that those injured in the attacks receive proper treatment.
