The United States, for instance, provides $37,500 for a gold medal, $22,500 for silver, and $15,000 for a bronze.

Hong Kong tops the list with a substantial $768,000 for gold, along with other perks like lifetime public transport tickets. 

Here’s a look at the athletes who topped the earnings chart at the 2024 Olympics:

1. Jon Rahm: $218 million

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm is the highest-paid athlete at the 2024 Olympics, with total earnings of $218 million. His income includes $16.5 million from the PGA Tour and a whopping $350 million contract with LIV Golf, which included an upfront payment of $175 million. Additionally, Rahm has secured $20 million in sponsorships with high-profile brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Rolex.

2.LeBron James: $128 million

 LeBron James stands out not only for his athletic prowess but also as the only billionaire athlete at the Olympics, boasting a net worth of $1.2 billion. He has accumulated $48.2 million from his NBA salary and an impressive $80 million from sponsorships and investments, including major deals with Nike and AT&T.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo: $111 million

Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo has earned $111 million, with $46 million coming from his basketball salary and another $65 million from endorsements, including partnerships with Nike, Google, and Disney. He recently signed a three-year contract extension with the Bucks valued at $186 million.

4. Stephen Curry: $102 million

Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry has garnered $102 million, which includes $52 million from his NBA salary and $50 million from endorsements and investments. His lucrative deal with Under Armour also provides him with an equity stake.

5. Kevin Durant: $93.3 million

Kevin Durant has earned a total of $93.3 million, combining $47.8 million from his NBA engagements and $45.5 million from sponsorships and investments. His endorsements include partnerships with Nike and involvement in sports betting ventures like FanDuel.
