The Transformation of Jimmy Odukoya: How a Nollywood Actor Became Senior Pastor of Fountain of Life Church 

In a significant transition, Nollywood actor Jimmy Odukoya has taken on a profound role as the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, succeeding his father, Taiwo Odukoya, the church’s founder. 

The late Pastor Odukoya, who passed away at 67 in the United States on 7 August, left behind a powerful legacy, and his son is now set to carry it forward.

Jimmy Odukoya: A Journey from the Screen to the Pulpit

Jimmy Odukoya, the first son of the late cleric and his deceased first wife, Bimbo Odukoya, is widely recognized for his acting talent in notable movies like ‘I am Nazzy’, ‘Mambam’s Diamond’, ‘Crazy Grannies’, and ‘The Wait’. 

However, now he embarks on a spiritual journey as he steps into the role of senior pastor.

The Path to Leadership

The official announcement of Jimmy Odukoya’s appointment was made during a church service, an event that marked a significant transition in the church’s leadership. 

Rotimi Okpaise, a pastor at The Fountain of Life Church, revealed that the late Pastor Odukoya had confided in the board of trustees about the succession plan before his passing.

The Board of Trustees unanimously elected Jimmy as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board, emphasising the trust they have in his ability to lead. 

The installation of Jimmy Odukoya is scheduled for Saturday, 30th of September 2023, a date that will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Fountain of Life Church.

Remembering Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya founded the Fountain of Life Church in 1992 and passionately led the congregation until his demise. 

His passing, which occurred less than two years after the loss of his wife Nomthi in 2021, marked the end of an era. 

Pastor Odukoya had two significant marriages, with Bimbo and Nomthi, and a total of four children.
