These 10 African Countries Have the Lowest IQ
Ten African countries top the list of a global ranking of IQ tests. The test assesses problem-solving abilities, logic, and comprehension.
Traditionally, an average IQ is pegged at 100, but these assessments are primarily designed for individual analysis rather than collective national evaluations.
For instance, African countries like Liberia and Sierra Leone register an average IQ of 45.07, placing them at the lower end of the spectrum, with Cape Verde slightly higher at 52.5.
The reliance on IQ scores to judge the intellectual capabilities of African countries neglects critical aspects such as educational infrastructure, access to resources, and socioeconomic factors, which profoundly influence these scores.

High IQ scores are usually a feature of countries with strong educational systems and supportive policies for research and development.
According to CEOWORLD magazine study, nearly two-thirds of people globally believe they are smarter than the average person, pointing to the subjective nature of intelligence. Japan, research shows, has the highest average IQ of 106.48.
This scenario suggests a need for a more comprehensive approach to understanding intelligence in African countries. Lower IQ scores in nations like Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Cape Verde do not define their identity or the potential of their citizens.
True intelligence encompasses not only cognitive skills but also traits like creativity, emotional intelligence, and resilience, which are not adequately measured by IQ tests.
