Tinubu’s visit: Lagos Govt Gives Traffic Advisory

The Lagos State Government has issued a traffic advisory to help residents plan their movement during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to the state.

The President is in Lagos for a two-day official visit to inaugurate projects across the state.

According to the government, some roads will experience temporary traffic disruption as a result of the events.

Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi said the road adjustments are necessary to ensure safety and allow the programmes to hold without disruption.

He urged motorists to plan ahead and avoid affected routes during the stated hours to reduce delays and traffic build-up.

The government said the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge will be inaugurated today between 9am and 1pm. Traffic is expected to be affected around Opebi, Allen, Ikeja and Ojota during the period.

Motorists using that corridor were advised to use alternative routes.

Tomorrow, two events are scheduled to hold between 9am and 1pm, including the inauguration of the Tolu Schools Complex. Traffic is expected to be affected in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle.

Another event will also take place later in the day on Victoria Island between 4pm and 7pm.

The government said officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and other traffic personnel will be on ground to control movement and assist road users in affected areas.

Residents were advised to cooperate with traffic officials and follow all directions to ensure smoother movement during the President’s visit.

President Tinubu’s visit to Lagos is part of his recent trips to different states. He was in Plateau State to sympathise with the government and people over the recent Palm Sunday killings. He also visited Ogun State on Saturday to inaugurate the newly built Gateway Airport, Gateway Airlines and a road project.

He is expected to travel to Bayelsa on Friday, then return to Abuja.
