Tragic Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Claims 5 Lives, Injures 15
In a sad development, five persons have been killed in an auto crash that occurred at the Kara Bus Stop section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.
Reports also say that 15 others sustained varying degrees of injury and are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
The accident, which occurred on the outward Lagos lane of the highway, involved a truck with registration number KRD-12HGS, a CRV SUV, and an interstate commercial bus.

Confirming the accident over the phone, the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adebayo Taofiq said, “Five persons died in the crash while over 15 persons who were injured have been taken to the hospital.”
Taofiq added “We have LASTMA officials on the ground and other emergency responders like the Federal Road Safety Corps handling the situation.
He also noted that “the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained; the first thing we will do is to rescue the victims before taking the case to the police station.”
The aftermath of the tragic accident
Meanwhile, the crash left motorists and commuters stranded for hours as the traffic jam that followed spread into Lagos.
