UEFA Reduces Ticket Prices for European Football Matches
On Monday, UEFA announced the reductions in ticket prices for away supporters at Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League matches. This change seeks to enhance the accessibility and affordability of European football for fans.
Starting with this season, UEFA has set a maximum price of €60 for away tickets at Champions League matches. This price will decrease to €50 next season.
Meanwhile, away tickets for Europa League matches will top out at €35, and Conference League matches will continue to have a €20 price cap.
UEFA’s decision responds to past protests from fans about steep away ticket costs. UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin stated the organization’s dedication to improving the matchday experience for fans and promoting inclusivity in football.
According to UEFA, the revised pricing policy reaffirms its commitment to making European football more accessible and affordable for all fans.
The fan advocacy group, Football Supporters Europe (FSE), has welcomed the new price limits. Ronan Evain, a representative from FSE involved in the consultations, remarked that the reduced prices acknowledge the crucial role away fans play in creating a vibrant atmosphere at European club fixtures.
