What to Know About Patience Eno, Late Akwa Ibom Governor’s Wife

Patience Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, has passed away. She died in a hospital from an unknown illness, as reported by Ini Emembong, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Information and Strategy.

The news of her death on Friday morning shocked many. Patience, who celebrated her 57th birthday in February, was deeply loved and respected. Her sudden death has left a void in the community.

Recently, in September, Patience organised an event for 600 senior citizens from all 31 local government areas in Akwa Ibom. This event, held at the Government House in Uyo, was part of the ARISE Initiative for the Elderly. Each participant received N50,000 and free medical care.

Patience was fondly called “Eka Iberedem Akwa Ibom,” which means “Mother and Strong Pillar of Akwa Ibom.” She was known for her hope and selfless love.

She was from Ikot Akpa Ekop in Mkpat Enin, an oil-rich farming community in Akwa Ibom. Patience’s life and work touched many lives, making her a revered figure in the community.

Raised in Akwa Ibom, Patience grew up in a community that valued mutual support.

She is survived by six children and nine grandchildren. She was married for over 37 years.

Patience also founded the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), which focuses on helping the poor and vulnerable by providing shelter, food, and education.

Additionally, she helped her husband manage the Royalty Hotel, which includes apartments, catering services, and coffee shops.
