Who Will Win the Premier League? Supercomputer Predicts Winner

Liverpool’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park has once again placed them at the centre of the Premier League title conversation.

A late winner from 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who announced himself on the big stage with a 100th-minute strike, sealed all three points for the Reds in a match that was as emotional as it was chaotic.

But while Liverpool celebrated the triumph, a bigger question remains: who is most likely to lift the Premier League trophy come the end of the season? According to a supercomputer prediction, Liverpool are still favourites but not without serious concerns.

Liverpool remain title favourites

Opta’s supercomputer has tipped Liverpool to retain their Premier League crown, edging out rivals Arsenal, who are once again expected to finish second.

Manchester City, who have dominated English football for much of the last decade, are predicted to settle for third place, while Chelsea are projected to round out the top four.

The outlook is far less flattering for Manchester United. Despite spending heavily on new attackers during the summer, the Red Devils are expected to slump to a mid-table finish in 12th, an outcome that mirrors their sluggish start to the campaign.

It is a worrying sign for the champions

While Liverpool’s attacking play looks fierce under new manager Arne Slot, the statistics highlight a glaring weakness at the back. In just two league matches, they have already conceded four goals, two against Bournemouth and another two in the Newcastle thriller.

Only Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and West Ham have shipped in more goals this early in the season. For a team hoping to defend their title, that is a red flag. Despite investing in defenders like Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Giovanni Leoni, Liverpool still look shaky.

Their ongoing pursuit of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi shows they are aware that defensive reinforcement is urgent.

Arsenal’s perfect start is clear

Rival fans, however, see this as Arsenal’s chance. Mikel Arteta’s men have started strong, scoring six goals without conceding, including a statement win over Manchester United.

The Gunners’ defensive solidity, combined with their growing attacking confidence, has sparked fresh debate about whether this could finally be their season after years of near misses.

The battle beyond the big four

Elsewhere, Tottenham have also enjoyed a flawless start, showing that the race at the top may be more competitive than ever.

Meanwhile, Newcastle, despite their spirited comeback attempt against Liverpool before Ngumoha’s last-minute heroics, face questions about squad depth, especially after losing Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko to rivals.
