Medical Doctor and media personality, Chinonso Egemba, better known as Aproko Doctor, has said that boiling carrots before consumption enhances nutrient absorption.

If you are part of the people eating raw carrots, you might be wasting your time. The orange colour of carrots is caused by a compound known as carotenoids. When we eat get carotenoids from carrots, our body converts it to Vitamin A for better eyesight, skin and immune system but when eaten raw, the amount of carotene available will be little.

However, when boiled or steamed, the carrots releases all the carotene so the body can absorb better. If you have a choice between raw and boiled carrots, go for the latter because it’s better result for your money.
