10 Nigeria’s Leading Stockbrokers in Q2 2025

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) just released its performance report for Q2 2025, and it shines a spotlight on the top-performing stockbroking firms that moved the market between April and June. 

During this period, the stock market grew by 13.54%, its best quarter in over a year.

While this growth is often credited to broader economic shifts, the role of stockbrokers behind the scenes can’t be ignored. 

They’re the ones facilitating trades, managing buy and sell orders, and keeping investors active in the market. Here are the top stockbroking firms in Nigeria based on the value of transactions they handled in the second quarter of 2025.

CardinalStone Securities Limited – N256.4 billion

With over N256.4 billion worth of trades, CardinalStone didn’t just lead the list, it dominated. The firm handled more than 13% of all stock market transactions in Nigeria during Q2. It also led in volume, trading 7.7 billion shares, more than any other firm.

EFG Hermes Nigeria Limited – N161.1 billion

Taking second place is EFG Hermes, which recorded N161.1 billion in transaction value. That’s over 8% of all the money that moved through the exchange in Q2. It also featured strongly in volume, ranking sixth with 2.5 billion shares traded.

Cordros Securities Limited – N157.9 billion

Cordros came in third with N157.9 billion in trades. This accounted for over 14% of the total value traded by the top 10 firms. The company also made the volume list, handling 2.07 billion shares.

United Capital Securities – N136.4 billion

With N136.4 billion worth of trades, United Capital claimed the fourth spot. It was active on both fronts, ranking second by volume after exchanging 4.2 billion shares.

Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited – N103.1 billion

Stanbic IBTC took the fifth position, moving N103.1 billion in trades. It also made it to the top 10 by volume, trading 2.48 billion shares, which placed it seventh on that list.

Meristem Stockbrokers Limited – N83.6 billion

Meristem posted a strong performance with N83.6 billion in transaction value. It also ranked third by volume, after handling 3.9 billion shares over the quarter.

CSL Stockbrokers Limited – N61.5 billion

In seventh place is CSL, which executed trades worth N61.5 billion. The firm also showed up in the volume rankings, placing eighth with 2.23 billion shares traded.

Vetiva Capital Management Limited – N54.06 billion

Vetiva handled N54.06 billion worth of stock trades, earning it the eighth spot on the list. That makes up nearly 5% of the total trade value among the top 10 firms.

Coronation Securities Limited – N52.3 billion

With N52.3 billion in transaction value, Coronation came in ninth. It contributed nearly 5% of the total trades by the top-performing stockbrokers in the quarter.

First Securities Brokers Limited – N44.7 billion

First Securities rounds off the list with N44.7 billion in trades. That’s over 4% of the value generated by the top 10 brokers and 2.28% of the total market trades in Q2.
