Over the years, the Nigerian music industry has been transformed by moguls like Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as, Don Jazzy. 

Their significant roles have pushed Nigerian artists outside the shores of Nigeria. These individuals have not only achieved remarkable success in their careers but have also made strategic contributions to the development and growth of the Nigerian music industry as a whole.

Don Jazzy

Don Jazzy, is a renowned music producer, singer, and songwriter. He co-founded Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj in 2004, a label that became one of the most influential and successful labels in Nigeria.

After the dissolution of Mo’ Hits Records in 2012, Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records, one of the leading record labels in Nigeria. Don Jazzy has been instrumental in discovering and nurturing talented artists such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Dr Sid, Rema, Johnny Drille, Wande Coal, and Ayra Starr.

His expertise in music has aided his consistent delivery of high-quality production blending various genres and infusing unique sounds to create captivating songs. Also, Don Jazzy’s meticulous attention to detail and innovative approach to music production has helped shape the sound of Nigerian music, elevating it to international standards.

The Music mogul has worked with renowned artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyoncé, and Drake, contributing to the global recognition of Nigerian music. These collaborations have opened doors for Nigerian artists and helped expand their reach to international audiences.

In a recent interview, Nigerian artist Davido revealed Don Jazzy was his mentor while growing up in the music industry, and even though he has grown high, he saw Don Jazzy as Jesus, when they first met.


David Adeleke, popularly known by his stage name is another music mogul that has been instrumental in putting Nigerian music on the global map. Davido’s unique sound, which blends Afrobeat, Afro-pop, and contemporary influences, has garnered widespread acclaim and a massive fan base both within and outside Nigeria.

As the founder and CEO of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), Davido has nurtured and promoted young talents including Mayorkun, Liya, Peruzzi, Dremo, Lil Frosh, May D and Yonda.

His collaborations with artists such as Chris Brown, Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Tinashe have not only gained massive global attention but have also opened doors for other Nigerian artists.

The “Unavailable” crooner who is on a Timeless Tour appreciated his fans for always standing by him.
