Dame Adaora Umeoji stepped into her role as the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc. Her appointments made her the first female GMD/CEO since the bank’s establishment in 1990.

Adaora Umeoji’s journey in the banking sector is nothing short of impressive, built on nearly three decades of dedication. Since joining Zenith Bank almost 26 years ago, she has climbed through the ranks, most recently serving as the Deputy Managing Director since October 2016.

Her contributions extend beyond banking, in 2022, she was honored with the Officer of the Order of the Niger, acknowledging her substantial contributions to national development.
Additionally, her role as a Peace Advocate of the United Nations underscores her influence on broader societal issues.
Adaora Umeoji also channels her influence into significant philanthropic work. She founded the Pink Breath Cancer Care Foundation and the Adorable Foundation, which not only support cancer care across Nigeria but also foster educational initiatives for underprivileged children, focusing significantly on Girl-Child education.
Her efforts in these areas earned her the Humanitarian Service Icon Award from the Sun Newspaper in 2023.
