APM Chairman Assures Osun Members of Party Stability Post-Supreme Court Ruling

Adewale Adebayo, the Osun State Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has assured party members that the party’s operations and legal standing remain unaffected by a recent judgment delivered by the Supreme Court.

The assurance comes as party stakeholders and grassroots members sought clarity regarding the potential implications of the apex court’s decision on the group’s organisational structure within the state. Adebayo’s intervention is intended to prevent confusion and maintain unity among the party’s rank and file.

The chairman’s clarification regarding the recent Supreme Court judgment comes at a time when party members were questioning whether the ruling would impact the party’s recognition or its ability to conduct political activities in Osun.

Legal stability and party operations

Decisions from the Supreme Court often serve as the final word on matters of political legitimacy, party registration, and leadership disputes in Nigeria. Such rulings frequently create periods of uncertainty for local party structures as they assess the legal implications for their administrative processes and electoral eligibility.

In Osun State, the leadership of the APM is working to ensure that the party’s internal mechanisms remain operational. Adebayo emphasised that the party’s focus remains on its core political objectives and that the legal developments do not alter the party’s roadmap or its presence in the state.

The leadership has expressed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the party’s local administration. Adebayo noted that the party’s legal advisers are monitoring all judicial developments to ensure that the interests of the members are protected and that the party remains compliant with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Political observers note that proactive communication from state chairmen is often essential during periods of legal volatility to prevent factionalism. The APM leadership is expected to continue its engagements with members to ensure grassroots stability as the party prepares for upcoming political activities in the state.
