Atiku Unsure About 2027 Presidential Run
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed hesitation about entering the 2027 presidential race, citing the need for a solid political foundation as a key factor. In a conversation for the upcoming TV show “Untold Stories with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie,” Atiku discussed his thoughts on the political landscape and his future in it.
Following his recent announcement of forming a coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku revealed his uncertainty about running in the next presidential election.
He emphasised the importance of having a robust and effective platform, noting that this requirement is more crucial now than ever in Nigeria’s democratic era.
Despite his reservations, Atiku did not completely dismiss the idea of running again. He stressed the country’s acute need for seasoned and trustworthy leadership.
Reflecting on past political alliances, such as the successful coalition in 2014 that led to a collective presidential candidacy, he highlighted the effectiveness of united support within a party, underscoring how it played a pivotal role in their previous electoral success.
