BREAKING: Senate Minority Whip Osita Ngwu Defects from PDP to APC

Senator Osita Ngwu, the Senate Minority Whip and representative of Enugu West Senatorial District, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party and joined the All Progressives Congress.

His defection was announced on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday after his letter was read during plenary.

The move further weakens the PDP’s numbers in the Red Chamber, with reports indicating that the party now has only six senators left.

Ngwu, who had been one of the opposition’s key figures in the Senate, now joins the ruling party in a move that is likely to add to concerns over the shrinking strength of the opposition in the National Assembly.
