Chowdeck Hits One Million Monthly Orders in Nigeria
Lagos-based food and delivery startup, Chowdeck, has achieved a major milestone, crossing one million monthly orders for meals and everyday essentials in Nigeria in October 2025.
The company’s CEO and co-founder, Femi Aluko, announced the achievement on X (formerly Twitter), saying that Chowdeck’s daily order volume has risen sharply from about 30,000 orders per day to over 40,000, and the numbers are still growing.
Aluko described the milestone as a proud moment for the team and a clear sign that demand for fast, reliable food delivery is increasing across Nigeria. With this achievement, Chowdeck becomes the first African on-demand delivery platform to reach one million monthly orders.
It’s fast growth and expanding reach
Chowdeck currently serves around 1.5 million users and works with more than 20,000 riders across Nigeria and Ghana. The company’s recent $9 million Series A funding in August 2025 helped boost its operations and improve delivery efficiency.
This came after it raised $2.5 million in seed funding in April 2024, with support from investors such as Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, FounderX Ventures, Hoaq Fund, Levare Ventures, True Culture Funds, and Haleakala Ventures.
Founded in October 2021, Chowdeck has grown at an impressive pace. In 2024 alone, the value of meals delivered through the platform increased more than sixfold compared to the previous year, reaching ₦30 billion in total deliveries.
Move beyond delivery
Chowdeck is also evolving beyond just logistics. In June 2025, the company acquired Mira, a point-of-sale platform for food and hospitality businesses.
The move allows Chowdeck to integrate software solutions for restaurants, positioning itself not just as a delivery platform, but also as a tech partner helping food businesses run more efficiently.
After launching in Ghana in May 2025, Chowdeck continues to expand across West Africa, taking on competitors like Glovo, Bolt Food, and Yango, which have scaled down operations in the region.
Behind Chowdeck’s success is its strong network of riders, the real drivers of the business. In Lagos, on-demand riders reportedly earn up to ₦25,000 daily, completing several orders while maneuvering through the city’s busy traffic. Their effort has made Chowdeck one of the most reliable and accessible food delivery services in Nigeria.
