Court Orders State Govt to Pay Deposed Emir of Kano N10M for Damages

The Federal High Court in Kano, led by Justice Simon Amobeda, has ordered the Kano State Government to pay N10 million in damages to Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the deposed Emir

According to the court, the sum was awarded for the infringement of Ado Bayero’s fundamental rights.

The ruling also mandated the state government to guarantee the protection of Bayero’s rights to freedom of movement and personal liberty.

This decision emerged after the court resolved initial jurisdictional queries, affirming its competence to handle the case.
