Dangote Refinery Supplies 20% of Europe’s Jet Fuel in July

Aliko Dangote’s refinery delivered over 400,000 tonnes of jet fuel to Europe in July, accounting for one-fifth of the region’s total supply for the month.

The delivery figures indicate that the Nigerian facility outperformed the United States in fuel supplies to the European market for the second consecutive month.

This performance comes despite a reported fault at the plant, which failed to significantly hinder the refinery’s export capacity to the European aviation sector.

The volume of 400,000 tonnes marks a significant entry into global energy supply chains, positioning the facility as a primary source of aviation fuel for one of the world’s most demanding markets.

According to reports from Billionaires Africa, the refinery’s ability to maintain high output levels during technical challenges highlights the scale of its current operational capacity.

The fact that the refinery beat US supplies for two straight months suggests a shifting trend in where Europe sources its refined petroleum products, increasingly relying on the Nigerian hub to meet its energy needs.
