Dangote Tops Africa’s Most Admired Brands List for Eighth Straight Year

Dangote Industries Limited has retained its position as Africa’s Most Admired African Brand for the eighth consecutive year.

The recognition was announced at the 16th Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands rankings in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This annual ranking measures how African consumers perceive both local and global brands.

Dangote Outperforms Leading African Brands

Dangote ranked first in the aided recall category, surpassing MTN and Vodacom. In spontaneous recall, the group placed second among African brands, following MTN and ahead of Trade Kings.

The company also received awards for Africa’s Most Admired African Industrial Brand and Most Admired African Brand for Social and Environmental Impact.

These awards reinforce Dangote’s status as one of Africa’s leading business groups. The company operates in cement, fertiliser, energy, petrochemicals, sugar, salt, packaging, and logistics.

Brand Africa reported that its survey covered 30 countries, representing over 85 percent of Africa’s population and economic output.

The results demonstrate Dangote’s strong public trust across Africa and highlight the company’s contributions to industrialisation, job creation, manufacturing, and economic growth. However, it still faces a major challenge. They made up only 15 percent of the Top 100 most admired brands. European, North American, and Asian brands continued to dominate the list.
