Over 250 students from host communities in Lagos have begun the selection process for the 2026 Egbin Power scholarship programme following a pre-test exercise.
The initiative is part of an expanded Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework by the power generation company, aimed at increasing educational access for youth living within its immediate operational environment.
The selection process is designed to identify high-performing students who require financial support to pursue their academic goals. Beyond the provision of funds, the 2026 edition of the programme will include an education fair, a dedicated boot camp, mentorship sessions, and a playgroup to support the holistic development of the beneficiaries.

Egbin Power, which operates the largest power plant in Nigeria located in Ibeju-Lekki, has historically maintained a relationship with its host communities through various social interventions. The current scholarship pre-test exercise reflects the company’s strategy to mitigate the economic pressures facing local families by investing in human capital.
