The Federal Government has opened applications for a consumer credit programme that allows eligible Nigerians to obtain smartphones, laptops and tablets.
Known as the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices Programme, or C.L.I.C.K.D., the scheme is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
The programme aims to make digital devices more affordable while supporting the purchase of products assembled in Nigeria.
However, the first phase is currently limited to participants in selected digital skills programmes, particularly the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent initiative.
Here are six requirements applicants must meet.
1. Provide your state of residence
Applicants must state where they currently live by selecting one of Nigeria’s 36 states or the Federal Capital Territory.
The information will help the programme administrators assess applications and manage participation across the country.
2. Submit your employment details
Applicants must disclose their current employment status.
The available categories include:
- Salary earner
- Freelancer or self-employed person
- Business owner
- Student
- Job seeker
- National Youth Service Corps member
Applicants may also provide their monthly income, although this part of the form is optional. The listed income categories range from below ₦100,000 to more than ₦1 million monthly.
3. Belong to an eligible digital skills programme
During the pilot phase, the scheme is primarily available to participants in the Federal Government’s 3MTT programme.
The application portal also lists other technology training organisations and programmes, including:
- Andela Learning Community
- Learn2Earn
- ALX
- HNG Internship
- AltSchool Africa
- Genesys Tech Hub
Applicants should note that the presence of these programmes on the form does not automatically guarantee eligibility. Access may depend on the category covered under the current phase.
4. Select a device and explain how you will use it
Applicants must choose the type of device they need. The available options are:
- Smartphone
- Laptop
- Tablet
They must also explain what the device will be used for. Applicants can select purposes such as:
- Learning and professional certification
- Remote work
- Freelancing
- Software development
- Business expansion
- Content creation
- School or other educational activities
More than one option can be selected where necessary.
5. Agree to information verification
Before submitting the application, applicants must confirm that all the information provided is correct.
They must also authorise CREDICORP and its partners to verify their details and determine whether they qualify for the credit facility.
Applicants are required to consent to being contacted about the progress or outcome of their applications.
6. State how you discovered the programme
Applicants must indicate how they learned about the C.L.I.C.K.D. scheme.
The available options include:
- 3MTT
- Social media
- Friend or family member
- School
- Employer
- Google Search
- Other sources
This information must be completed before the form can be submitted.

On the website, click the “I’m Interested” button to access and complete the application form.
Applicants should understand that the scheme provides devices through consumer credit. It is not a free laptop or smartphone distribution programme. Successful applicants may be required to repay the cost under the credit terms offered by the programme.
