Glencore operates as a dominant force in the global commodity trading and mining sectors, and this arrangement further expands its grip on the primary raw material used in aluminum production.
The deal ensures that all bauxite originating from the state-owned Nimba Mining Co will be channeled through Glencore, removing other potential buyers from this specific production stream.
