House of Reps Approves Tinubu’s Emergency Rule in Rivers State
On Thursday, the House of Representatives approved President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State through a voice vote attended by 243 members.
Along with endorsing the emergency rule, the House proposed additional measures to address the crisis in Rivers State. They recommended establishing a national committee dedicated to restoring peace in the region. Additionally, they suggested that the National Assembly should assume the responsibilities of the Rivers State Assembly for six months.
