What is the sanctuary scholarship?

The Sanctuary Scholarship at the University of Westminster is a generous program that covers full tuition fees for a one-year Master’s course. 

In addition to waiving the tuition costs, the scholarship provides £1,000 to help with living expenses over the 12-month period. This financial support aims to remove barriers that prevent talented individuals from continuing their education due to financial constraints.

Who can apply?

This scholarship is specifically tailored for students who are currently residing in the UK and hold one of the following immigration statuses:

• Asylum seeker
• Discretionary leave to remain (due to an asylum application)
• Limited leave to remain (due to an asylum application)
• Refugee status

To be eligible, applicants must have already secured a place in a full-time Master’s program at the University of Westminster, starting either in September 2024 or January 2025.

It’s important to note that those who already have a Master’s degree or can receive postgraduate loans from Student Finance are not eligible. Additionally, certain programs like Postgraduate Diplomas and professional qualifications do not qualify for this scholarship.
