How Tinubu Took 20 Years to Prepare for Presidency – Joe Igbokwe

A Lagos State chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has said President Bola Tinubu has no serious rival ahead of the 2027 presidential election, insisting the opposition’s hope of unseating him is unrealistic.

Igbokwe made the claim in a post shared on his Facebook page, where he argued that political victory is not won by “magic,” but by building strength, structure, and value over time. According to him, people do not rally behind a politician who has nothing to offer, adding that every consistent effort eventually produces results.

He maintained that any belief that Tinubu can be defeated in 2027 exists mainly in the imagination of opposition figures, suggesting they lack the “muscle” required to challenge an incumbent with strong political footing.

Igbokwe also used the moment to highlight what he described as Tinubu’s long-term preparation for the presidency. He recalled that Tinubu waited and planned for more than two decades before formally entering the presidential contest, saying the “right time” came in 2023 when he finally declared and ran.

In his view, Tinubu’s emergence as president was not accidental but the outcome of years of timing, political calculation, and groundwork. He further claimed that Tinubu is now “reworking Nigeria,” and questioned how opponents who lack comparable influence or structure expect to remove him from office in the next election cycle.
