How to Apply for FIRS Recruitment In Nigeria

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is seeking experienced professionals to fill various specialized positions as part of their effort to strengthen their team. The recruitment process opened on Monday, December 13, as FIRS continues to enhance its operations and service delivery.

Positions Available

The positions announced include roles such as assistant manager and deputy manager in specialized areas like tax (investigation), PRS (research), public relations, ICT (cybersecurity and AI management), PRS (risk management), and legal. There are also openings for senior managers and assistant directors in tax (audit).

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for these positions, applicants need to meet specific academic and professional requirements:

  • Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a second-class lower division or lower credit.
  • NYSC: Candidates must have completed their mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program no later than December 31, 2017.
  • Age Limits: Candidates applying for assistant manager and deputy manager roles must not be older than 40 years by December 31, 2024. For senior manager and assistant director roles, the age limit is 45 years by the same date.

FIRS is looking for candidates with:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Nigerian tax laws and regulatory frameworks.

Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official FIRS career portal at careers.firs.gov.ng, or through FIRS’s verified social media platforms. The application portal will be open from December 23, 2024, to January 11, 2025.

Applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria carefully and provide accurate and complete information to enhance their chances of being selected. This recruitment initiative is part of FIRS’s broader strategy to enhance tax administration and compliance nationally.

Additional Recruitment for Tax Officers

FIRS is also recruiting tax officers, with the application portal opening on November 2, 2024. This recruitment targets officer two and officer one roles in eight states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo.

The recruitment process is designed to attract talented individuals who can contribute to the nation’s tax administration and support FIRS’s mission to improve national revenue through efficient tax collection and enforcement.
