Is Abel Damina Right About Alcohol and Cigarettes Not Being Sins?

Pastor Abel Damina, who leads Abel Damina Ministries and Power City International, recently made headlines by stating that smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol are not sins. He shared these views during a New Year’s Eve sermon.

Pastor Damina explained that while many people think of these actions as sins, they are not inherently wrong according to the Bible. However, he clarified that he is not encouraging these behaviors. 

He noted the health risks associated with smoking and the embarrassing situations that excessive drinking can lead to.

He also discussed how sin is really about what comes from inside a person, such as their thoughts and intentions, rather than what they consume. 

Pastor Damina used stories and verses from the Bible to support his points, suggesting that what makes a person sinful is their inner thoughts and actions, not the substances they ingest.
