The Kaduna State government has officially dismissed a controversial letter alleging that N2.3 trillion was utilised for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign. The government described the claims as baseless and an attempt to mislead the public regarding the administration’s financial integrity.
The denial comes following the circulation of a document that purported to outline massive political funding via state-related channels. The state authorities have maintained that the alleged letter has no factual foundation and serves only to create unnecessary political tension.
Representing the administration, Maiyaki stated that Governor Uba Sani remains undeterred by such claims. He affirmed that the Governor’s attention is strictly directed towards his developmental mandate, specifically focusing on consolidating peace and strengthening public institutions within the state.
Priorities of the Sani administration
The government emphasised that its current agenda is centred on accelerating infrastructure development and improving the welfare of Kaduna citizens. According to official statements, the administration is prioritising the delivery of essential services and the maintenance of social order over political distractions.
The Kaduna government’s response to the alleged N2.3 trillion APC campaign funding letter marks a swift attempt to contain the fallout from the unverified allegations, which have raised questions about political financing in the region.
The claims involve a figure of N2.3 trillion, an amount that has drawn significant attention due to its scale. However, the state government has characterised the document as a fabrication intended to malign the reputation of the current leadership and the ruling party.
In the broader political context, allegations of large-scale campaign financing often become flashpoints in Nigerian politics, particularly during periods of intense partisan activity. The Kaduna administration’s stance is to maintain focus on its stated policy of institutional strengthening and economic stability.
The government has not yet indicated whether it will initiate legal proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the circulation of the disputed document.
