The scoop further indicates Bobby Kotick’s recent presence at a dinner during an Allen & Co. conference earlier this week.

During the event, Kotick broached the notion of a collaborative effort to acquire TikTok among a gathering that included OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Who exactly is Bobby Kotick?

Bobby Kotick is a long-time leader in the gaming industry. He oversaw Activision for over three decades, from 1991 to 2023.

During his tenure, he played a key role in the formation of Activision Blizzard through a merger with Vivendi Games.

He stepped down after Activision Blizzard was acquired by Microsoft in late 2023.

Bobby Kotick also served on the boards of major companies like Coca-Cola and Yahoo! earlier in his career.

Kotick’s journey traces back to his days as a student at the University of Michigan in 1983, when he co-founded a technology venture named Arktronics with his dormmate Howard Marks.

The duo crafted software tailored for the Apple II platform. During his sophomore year, Kotick pitched Arktronics to Steve Wynn, securing a substantial $300,000 investment.
