NNPC and Dangote Refinery Sign 10-Year Gas Supply Deal

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, through its subsidiary NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), has entered into a 10-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE.

Under this deal, NGML will supply the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, with 100 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCF/D). The agreement was signed on Tuesday at the Dangote Group’s Corporate Head Office in Lagos by NGML’s Managing Director, Justin Ezeala, and Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group.

According to NNPC’s spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, this collaboration is designed to ensure a reliable gas supply to the Dangote Refinery, which will support steady power generation and feedstock provision, promoting local production capacity and industrial growth in Nigeria.

“This partnership aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of harnessing Nigeria’s natural gas resources to drive industrial and economic growth. It represents a key milestone and underscores NGML’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy security,” Ezeala stated during the signing ceremony.

As per the agreement, NGML will deliver an initial firm supply of 50 MMSCF/D of natural gas, with additional flexibility to scale up supply based on refinery requirements.
